What is Recreational Rowing?

As FISA, the World Rowing Organization describes it:
"Recreational rowers enjoy tourism, sight-seeing, sport, and friendship. Crews do not compete against one another; instead rowers go on tours around the world in an effort to introduce rowing to nations who are not familiar with it or who only view rowing as an Olympic sport.

Over the last decades, Europe has built up a huge culture in recreational rowing. Rowing as a leisure sport and team competition all have their origin in Europe. Thousands of rowers and their teams row on countless rivers and seas throughout the continent.

Many scientific studies have proven that competitive and recreational rowing is healthy for you. More than 530 muscles are active while rowing. So stay fit, gear up, and come row with us! For the past 33 years, recreational rowers of all nationalities, ages, and abilities have toured lakes, rivers, and seas in Europe, the Americas, and all over the world.
